Siargao Environmental Awareness (S.E.A.) Movement Inc. is a grassroots non-profit organization that aims to preserve the natural resources of the Siargao seas for the present and future generation thru working with the local communities, businesses and government agencies.

A community that is Environmentally conscious, Active and United in preserving Siargao’s seas. The group believes that only an empowered, educated and engaged SEAtizenry will stand up for the environmental rights of Siargao and its people.

 

  • S.E.A. Movement is run by pro-active volunteers and surfers of Siargao who love the ocean and the island and want everyone to have the same love and passion to protect and preserve it. We are a grassroots movement that started in September 2015 as a beach cleanup activity with the local groms of General Luna, Siargao Island, Philippines organized by the surfers behind a sustainable surf brand, Kudo Surf, as their corporate social responsibility. From the simple act of picking up wastes washed ashore to keep our playground clean, the movement has gained local and international support and became an independent S.E.C-registered non-stock and non-profit organization in 2017.

    Marja and her small surf oriented family built their lives around the ocean and this connection to water has ingrained in her the desire to give back to the seas.

    In 2015, she started SEA Movement by simply cleaning the beach with the local surfer kids and she dreams of the organinzation being ran in the future by the youth of Siargao that she is training now.

    A corporate slave from Manila who fell in love with Siargao since he first set foot on the island in 2017. The pandemic opened an opportunity for him to work remotely from paradise and has been living the best time ever since. He joins community efforts to protect Siargao for future generations to enjoy.

    A surfer, filmmaker, and photographer from the Philippines with a penchant for telling stories for social change and pursuing environmental causes. Outside his work, he enjoys surfing and boodle fights.

    An Argentinian from the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, always deeply in love with the tropics and photography, who in 2017 decided to move far away from home and start living by doing surf & scuba-dive photography at the heavenly Siargao Islands in The Philippines.
